Whatever good will Pope Benedict XVI may have created from his successful World Youth Day event in Cologne has vanished in the new directive to drive gays out of the church. The Washington Post reports:
The Vatican has ordered an inspection of Roman Catholic seminaries in the United States to look for "evidence of homosexuality" and for faculty members who dissent from church teachings, according to a document containing guidelines for the year-long review.
The inspections of more than 220 seminaries and theological schools, set to begin later this month, was authorized in the wake of the church's child-molestation scandal. It will be carried out by a committee of 117 bishops and priests, who will break into small teams to visit each seminary for at least four days.
According to a report in Katholische Nachrichten, the Vatican directive against gays was personally approved by Pope Benedict XVI:
While the Vatican conducts this witch hunt in the seminaries, it evidently is involved in providing sanctuary to a Croation general accused of war atrocities:
The chief prosecutor for the U.N. tribunal for Balkans war crimes has said that a Roman Catholic monastery in Croatia is sheltering a fugitive Croatian general charged with atrocities against Serb civilians and that the Vatican has refused pleas to help find him.
Carla Del Ponte of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper that she did not know the name of the monastery that she believes is giving refuge to the fugitive, Ante Gotovina. He is accused of overseeing the murders of at least 150 Serbs and the forced expulsion of tens of thousands near the end of the 1991-95 civil war.
Evidently murder is far less sinful in the eyes of the Vatican than same-sex relationships.
You shouldn't write too many lies in one article. Del Ponte never came up with one single document or hint where to find Mr Gotovina.
But for you it is already clear that the Pope is lying! Come on, you are the liar! Because there is no single fact to corrobarate Del Ponte!
